Dailymotion Ad Blocking — Setup & How It Works

Last updated: Jul 26, 2026
Set up DNDShield to handle Dailymotion video ads. A Pro feature that mutes and speeds through ads automatically. Steps, how it works, and troubleshooting.

Dailymotion plays pre-roll and mid-roll ads inside its player. DNDShield handles them by muting and speeding through each ad automatically, so you reach your video faster.

Dailymotion handling is a Pro feature, part of DNDShield's extended streaming-platform support. On the free plan, Dailymotion in-player ads aren't handled.

How it works

When a Dailymotion ad plays, DNDShield detects it and:

  • Mutes the ad and speeds it up, then restores normal playback and volume the moment your video begins.

A "Ad sped up ⏩" pill confirms the action in the player corner and clears when your video resumes. Dailymotion has no reliable skip control for these ads, so DNDShield speeds and mutes rather than claiming a skip.

Turn it on

  1. Make sure you're on a paid plan (see pricing).
  2. Sign in to the extension so your plan is recognized.
  3. Open any Dailymotion video — ad handling is automatic.

Troubleshooting

  • No effect on Dailymotion? Confirm you're signed in and on a paid plan.
  • Ad still played normally? Reload the tab; DNDShield re-attaches on the next ad.
  • dailymotion.com allowlisted? Remove it to re-enable protection.
