Install DNDShield on Opera
Last updated: Jul 29, 2026
Two ways to install the DNDShield ad blocker on Opera — from the Opera add-ons store, or from the Chrome Web Store, which Opera supports. Step-by-step guide.
DNDShield runs on Opera, which is built on the same Chromium engine as Chrome. There are two ways to install it.
Option 1 — Opera add-ons store
- Open the Opera add-ons store and search for DNDShield.
- Click Add to Opera.
- Pin the shield icon to your toolbar for one-click access.
Option 2 — Chrome Web Store (Opera supports it)
Opera can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store with a small helper:
- Install the "Install Chrome Extensions" add-on from the Opera add-ons store (a one-time step).
- Open the DNDShield Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome — Opera handles the rest.
- Pin the shield icon to your toolbar.
After installing
- Click the shield icon and make sure protection is On (green).
- Browse normally — ad and tracker blocking is automatic.
- Optional: sign in to sync settings across devices.
Troubleshooting
- Icon not showing? Open Opera's extensions menu (puzzle icon) and pin DNDShield.
- Blocking seems off? Check the site isn't in your allowlist, then reload the tab.
