Why Allowlist a Website?

Sometimes you need to disable features" class="doc-internal-link">ad blocking on specific sites:

• A site won't load content until you disable your ad blocker
• You want to support a website by viewing their ads
• A paywall or login form is blocked by mistake
• A shopping site checkout isn't working

How to Allowlist in DNDShield

From the Popup (Quickest):

1. Navigate to the website you want to allow
2. Click the DNDShield icon in your toolbar
3. Toggle the site protection off
4. Refresh the page

Temporary Allow:

DNDShield supports temporary allowing — protection turns back on automatically after 10 minutes or 1 hour. Great for quick access without forgetting to re-enable.

From the Options Page:

1. Right-click the DNDShield icon → Options
2. Go to the Allowlist section
3. Add the domain (e.g., example.com)
4. Save

How to Allowlist in Other Ad Blockers

uBlock Origin:

1. Click the uBlock icon
2. Click the big blue power button
3. Refresh the page

AdBlock Plus:

1. Click the ABP icon
2. Click Enabled on this site to toggle off
3. Refresh

• Allow the domain, not the page: Allowing example.com is better than allowing a specific URL
• Use temporary allow: If you only need access once, use the timed allow feature
• Check your allowlist regularly: Remove sites you no longer need to allow
