Facebook Ads Are Everywhere
Facebook shows sponsored posts in your feed, Stories, Marketplace, and sidebar. These ads use your personal data — likes, messages, browsing history — to target you.

The most effective way to remove Facebook ads:
- Install DNDShield on Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
- Open facebook.com
- Sponsored posts, sidebar ads, and suggested content are automatically hidden
What gets blocked:
- Sponsored posts in News Feed
- Suggested groups and pages (ad-driven)
- Sidebar advertisements
- "Suggested for you" promoted content
- Facebook Pixel tracking on other websites
Method 2: Facebook's Built-in Ad Preferences
You can't remove ads completely, but you can reduce targeting:
- Go to Settings → Ad Preferences
- Under Ad Topics, hide topics you don't want

- Turn off Ads based on your activity on Facebook
This reduces targeting but doesn't remove ads.
Method 3: Use Facebook in a Browser (Mobile)
On mobile, use Facebook in your browser (Chrome/Firefox) instead of the app. Browser extensions can block ads in the mobile browser version.
The Facebook app doesn't allow ad blocking.
